John,

I don't know if you remember me but I had written you in the fall about reading Hell Behind Prison Walls. We had met at Prince Gallitzin State Park and I bought your book at Cider Fest where you graciously signed it for me. Well I just finished The Devils Den and it too is a book you just can't put down. I had no idea of the workings of a prison system. Who would know better than one who worked in that system. Dirty politics seem to end up every where. I too get so hot under the collar when I pick up a newspaper and read about Government bribes and the waste of our tax dollars. I know first hand when I was fire chief we had to assist in a riot in a prison in Huntingdon, Penna. years ago. I was shocked to hear how the prison has a State Dietician to insure their meals are nutritional. Yet our elderly are not given that same right. In closing I think you are a great writer, you write in a fashion your readers fully understand what you are trying to get across. Both books I found excellent reading. I bought one and my brother-in law bought the other. We switched to read each other's. I hope to see you this year again.

Best Wishes

Steve

Dear John,

My wife and I met you at the Bedford County Fair and she surprised me by buying your book and giving it to me that day. I am on the last chapter and wanted to tell you I really liked it! I am 49 years old and can relate the politics and policys of law-makers and leaders that you mention in the prisons to SO MANY different areas of life. The lack of accountability has been a cancer in our country for the last 40 years. Self discipline, respect, and responsibility have gone out the window on all levels. I hold our leaders responsible for this. To be a leader you should be the best example and ALWAYS strive for the good and the right for all. I personally believe that without God as our supreme authority, personally and as a nation, that this is the results we end up with. I believe it is inevitable from any angle. Thank-You for putting this book out there. It gave me a look inside our prison walls, and also warned me of the trouble coming our way. It was especially nice meeting you at Bedford, Pa. Sincerely, Steve Marks

John,I was going to send you a personal e-mail, but I don't have anything bad to say!!! Someone once said, "goodness, the more communicated, the more abundant (it) grows." Your guestbook is a better soapbox upon which to stand and shout. Well, I've read about 90% of both books and I make this conclusion. Our federal government does indeed need to better scrutinize the penal system operations at all levels and more often. Funding,of course, is problematical. But the biggest problem our country has not been able to solve over the last fifty years is the prioritizing of taxpayer dollars' distribution effectively. Thanks! Ray

John,
I just had to write this letter. I read your book, “Hell Behind Prison Walls” and thoroughly enjoyed it. Once I started reading your non-fiction book I could not put it down. I took it back to the camper and jumped right into it. I found you to be a very creative writer and was most impressed by your details. My brother-in-law had purchased your other book and we are exchanging them after he finishes his. I told him on the phone last night to “Hurry up” Once again, thank you so much for an excellent good book. I am sure the other book “The Devil’s Den of Prison and Justice” will also be and excellent read.

Sincerely
Steve Beal

John, I'm reading both books from the beginning of each. I particularly like the short, but to the point chapters. I'm glad that I bought both books. My favorite type of reading is real life nonfiction that usually can only be found in biographies. The beginning of both books are very captivating. And I know that the best is yet to come!!! John, I truly enjoyed talking with you and installed your website among my "favorites" as soon as I returned home from Clarion last Sunday. Also, I've enjoyed reading the many entries from your guestbook. Well, remember me as I shall return with other entries, I hope, from time to time. Take care, Ray

I'm one of the proud fan of respectable Mr.Pecchio. I'm fortunate enough to get a chance to speak to him, and i must admit that he is one of the person whom i truly admire for his relentless fight towards justice. May GOD bless.

John,

Dan's brother forwarded this email to him - the bit about Gitmo and terrorist's rights - reminded him of info in your books about prisoner's rights!

Lets Recap the new political scene:

• We have a CIA Boss with less experience than Austin Powers.
• A Tax cheat for Treasury Secretary and three more that didn't make the final cut.
• The most corrupt female in America as Secretary of State.
• An Attorney General terrorist sympathizer. Now we find out that Eric Holder's law firm represents 17 Gitmo Terrorists.
• And a new President whose first act is not take care of domestic issues but close Gitmo and make sure terrorist's civil rights are not violated.
• A stimulus bill with no stimulus for the private sector, but plenty for government and payback to unions, Acorn and the looney Left

• Every one wanted change . . . Well you got it….Nice first month! I can't wait to see what's next.

John,
I finished "The Devil's Den" last evening. Thank you for your efforts to enlighten us on the many problems in the prison system.

On a humorous note - after I read the account of the prisoner and the eagle on the wall, I read it aloud to my wife. We both laughed til the tears ran down our faces.

"A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones." - Proverbs 17:22

Again - thanks for the education I received from your books. My best wishes to your future endeavors.

John, as you already know I have read both your books and think they are excellent. As you are aware I have also written a book about prison, My Side Of The Bars, which you read. I am hoping you and I with the help of anyone interested can come up with ways to make people more aware of the prison system and maybe even be idealistic enough to think we all can create change in the system. There is power in numbers. Anyone interested in buying my book can either go to amazon.com. Anyone interested please feel free to go to my blog site and even leave a comment at http://cleodunnit.blogspot.com/
