Hell Behind Prison Walls is a true story about John Pecchio's
twenty-five years of experience as a shoemaker and Vocational
Instructor in one of the more dangerous all-male, maximum-security
prisons in New York State, the Elmira Correctional Facility and
Reception Center. Prisons have lost their ability to rehabilitate
prisoners. Pecchio views prisons as small towns that are isolated from
civilization and filled with murderers, rapists, drug pushers and the
mentally unstable. They are power-seeking individuals who operate on
fear, greed, ignorance, and manipulation. Prisoners' rights have
currently taken precedence over all else. Administrators spend more
time fearing punishment from their superiors than they do keeping their
prisons secure. In doing so, they have contributed to lowering the
morale and safety of prison employees to the lowest point in history.
Lawmakers who pass humanitarian laws protecting prisoners' rights
without knowing the impact of them have created a wave of pressure and
danger within the prison system. For all international orders, please click here to contact John directly for details.
